Deadlight Dance is a musical duo based in Wiltshire, England. Comprising of Nick Fletcher and Tim Emery, the pair first met at Sixth Form in 1989. Having initially played together in a Sixth Form Goth band (as was so often the way at the time), they remained friends, periodically playing music together and supporting each other’s musical ventures. In 2020, the world went on hold as Covid-19 took over and a seed was planted to work together again. It was initially going to be just one session but it kept growing.

On 15th September 2023, the critically acclaimed debut album Beyond Reverence" was released by the band, on Ray Records. Deadlight Dance played all the instruments and opted for a full band sound, with drums and synths. However, the band also found that they could go out acoustically, playing some of their favourite covers. They wanted to capture this side of the band too so wasted no time recording a follow up. "The Wiltshire Gothic" was released on Good Friday, 29th March 2024. Whereas “…Beyond Reverence” was largely original material, recording in full band format, the follow up is a collection of songs the band took early influence from, recorded acoustically in an old Wiltshire Saxon church. You can download both via Bandcamp, stream worldwide everywhere and a small run of limited edition CDs is currently available through the band.

The band have released a few singles and have a total (so far) of ten video collaborations with Haunting the Atom. From "Missives from the Sisters", a classic tale of misogyny set in the time of witchcraft through to "Dark Circles", a song about autism, the band have delivered some classic dark sounding tunes with a social conscience. Lyrically, always thought provoking and covering a range of topics for those with a social conscience.

Radio play has already picked up with the band being heard on several radio shows, including DCR Online, Velvet Skies with JP, The Andy Cousin Show (yes, he of All About Eve / The Mission) and HRH Radio. The band actively play around local pubs but have ventured out further to places such as Southampton, Lancaster and Bristol. The band’s music has been heard across the airways from Scotland to France and over in the USA.

On Friday 13th September 2024, the next chapter began... Deadlight Dance released a brand new 5-track EP called "Chapter & Verse". The EP contains a running theme of characters from books. It was preceded by a video collaboration with Haunting the Atom for the lead track, "Montag". The EP is out through Ray Records and streams worldwide.
